Rough Shooting Walk Up Days
Carl loves these days and it is a fabulous opportunity for likeminded people with working dogs to spend a day in the countryside doing what we love best, shooting game while working your dogs. The next flush could be a woodcock, snipe, partridge (French or English), a pheasant, or even a pigeon, rabbit or hare. We offer the ultimate in rough shooting over different types of terrain from woodlands, arable, sugar beet, water, hedges, and cover.
These days can be for beginners and experienced handlers alike. 2 or 4 guns is ideal.
Hospitality is provided throughout the day.

Rough Shooting Walk-Up Days with Kugae Gundogs
Rough shooting walk-up days offer an exhilarating and traditional way to enjoy the great British countryside. They also allow you to test your shooting skills while bonding with fellow enthusiasts. At Kugae Gundogs, we are proud to offer expertly organised experiences that deliver a thrilling blend of sport, camaraderie, and a genuine connection with nature.
Safety, Tradition, and Enjoyment
Our rough shooting walk-up days are carefully tailored to provide participants with a true sense of this rugged and unpredictable style of shooting. Most importantly, we prioritise safety, tradition, and enjoyment. These days are arranged for small groups to ensure a personalised and intimate atmosphere throughout.
In addition, participants are accompanied by experienced handlers and their highly-trained gundogs. These dogs are essential to the experience, helping to flush and retrieve game while enhancing the day’s rhythm and energy.
What to Expect on the Day
To begin, each shoot starts with a warm welcome and a full safety briefing. During this time, we ensure that all participants are familiar with the day’s layout, safety expectations, and planned activities. Whether you’re a seasoned shooter or entirely new to the sport, our friendly team will help you feel confident and at ease from the start.
After the briefing, the group heads out together across a mix of terrain. This includes open fields, hedgerows, and woodlands. As a result, the day provides diverse and exciting opportunities for both challenging and rewarding shooting experiences.
