A great start to the season,
This month in the field!
The shoot season is in full swing, and it’s been a busy September here at Kugae Gundogs. From lively training days and pupdates to exciting collaborations, we’ve had plenty going on!
As we step into October, there’s even more to look forward to: rough and driven shoots on the horizon, new YouTube videos to enjoy, and fresh blogs to catch up on. We’re also thrilled to share news of our Swazi collaboration, plus our new feature where Carl shares what he’s recommending at the moment.
Important Updates:
Over the past year, our dog training business has continued to grow. To support this expansion and future investment, we are moving our activities from Kugae Trading to Kugae Limited.
As part of this change, we are now VAT registered. From 1st November 2025, VAT will be added to our training services for all customers. Please note that any bookings already placed before this notification will remain at the agreed rate without VAT. Customers will be invoiced for all sessions and services attended as part of this change after 1st November 2025.
We sincerely appreciate your support during this exciting stage of growth, and we look forward to working with you and your dogs in the future. If you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch.
Pupdates
Our nine gorgeous Springer Spaniel puppies are now in training and have been split from their siblings & are learning from our wider team - we now have Dougie, Mac, Brooke, River, Norsk & Lake and Anders!
The pups are being socialised and trained and some of them will be looking for their forever homes within the next Year.

🐶 Puppy Group Class (Under 6 Months Old)
Sunday 5th October, 12th October & Sunday 26th October | 9.00 – 9.30 AM
Our 30-minute sessions are designed for puppies under 6 months old, focusing on early socialisation, confidence building, and gentle introduction to training through fun, positive experiences.
🐶 Working Dogs Group Training
Sunday 12th October & Sunday 26th October | 10:00 – 11:00 AM
These hour long sessions help nurture your gundog training journey. We strengthen foundations and encourage appropriate environments to build reliability and engagement ready for the season.
🐾 Early Foundation Group Training
Sunday 12th October & Sunday 26th October | 12:00 – 1:00 PM
This new session offers the ideal opportunity to mix young or novice dogs with experienced Kugae team members. Working alongside calm, steady dogs helps younger dogs progress while reducing reactivity and building confidence through positive influence. Handlers will also receive guidance on improving focus and developing effective retrieving techniques.
Training All Year Round
Further to the exciting expansion we shared above, we are delighted to let you know that we have now converted a dedicated indoor training area. This means lessons can continue comfortably throughout the colder months, whatever the weather.

These days are perfect for beginners & seasoned handlers with their own working dogs who want to experience a live game training day. 2–4 guns per day (book as an individuals or group). Meet & greet. Field & Barn Hospitality. Lunch in The Barn. Transport provided.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Gundog Breed Dog Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with gundog breeds, a strong understanding of both fieldwork and pet obedience, and the ability to tailor training for owners as well as their dogs.
